The Board of Directors welcomes six new members aboard for FY2009. The incoming members are:
- Lana Bastin-optometrist and office manager at the Bastain Optometric Clinic located on
S. Main Streetin Hopkinsville . Lana serves on the Christian County Advisory Committee. She brings fundraising, community relations, and personnel management skills to our Board of Directors
- Donald Carroll-Hopkins County Judge Executive. Donald serves on the PADD Board of Directors, the Hopkins County Economic Development Board and the Hopkins County Health Department Board. He brings Government, Management, and Public Safety skills to our Board of Directors.
- Bobby Johnson-former chief of police for the city of Madisonville . He served on Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board of Directors and as President of the Madisonville Rotary Club. He serves as director of ABA youth program and serves on the Board for the Caldwell Smith Multi-Culture Center . Bobby brings Management, Public Safety and community relations skills to our Board of Directors.
- Gigi Kesterson-Smith-owner of Kesterson’s Antiques on
Hall Streetin Madisonville . She has served on the Hopkins County Extension Service Committee, the County Committee for Farm Credit Services and the Madisonville Country Club Board of Directors. Gigi brings Financial Management, Community Relations, and Marketing Skills to our Board of Directors
- Patricia Walters-retired teacher from the Hopkins County School System. Pat has served on the Sanctuary Board of Directors, as a NHC volunteer and a Hopkins County Long Term Disaster Recovery volunteers. She brings Education, Evaluation and Analysis and Management skills to our Board of Directors.
- Wanda Wilson-registered nurse with Trover Health Systems. Wanda is a member of the City Council for Earlington, a member of the AARP Board of Directors and as secretary for the Senior Citizens Board of Directors. She brings Government, Health Services and Community Relations skills to our Board of Directors.
Two Board of Directors members completed years of service at the end of June.
- Frank Williams completed three years of service. The past year he chaired the Human Resources Committee. This is one of our more active committees. This committee interviews and makes recommendations for staff positions. His service was very valuable to the Board of Directors.
- Lairy Nofsinger completed six years of service. Lairy’s service to our local Red Cross Chapter has spanned several decades. During this most current term of service, he chaired our Governance Committee. This committee’s dedicated work is reflected in the very strong and effective Board of Directors. He also served on our 2007 Major Gifts Committee. He proved equally successful on this committee.
